As women, we don't always have the freedom to walk freely on the street without the fear of something bad happening to us. What happens when youโre faced with danger? Or even when you get that feeling in your gut that something isnโt right? Are you overcome with a paralyzing fear? Uncertainty? Doubt in yourself and your ability to fight back? What if you replaced that fear with courage and confidence?
This week's guest Rachel Mahloch (aka BattleMom) empowers women to replace that fear with courage and confidence through self-defense, breathing & visualization. But she does her work from a place of compassion through her own personal experience. She may be small (coming in at only five feet tall), but this girl is MIGHTY. Her black-belt level of mastery in martial arts may help, but what's changed her life, and the lives of the women she's taught and mentored on this journey to strong, is the theory that it only takes a small amount of technical training for women to grow both their mental and physical strength. And her diverse background... like REALLY diverse (careers spanning opera, finance & martial arts)... has allowed her to create a comprehensive self-defense training style that is uniquely her own.
Our safety is a freedom and a choice that can be taken from our control in an instant, but it shouldn't be. You have the right to wear whatever you want, walk freely on the street by yourself, take a subway without feeling unsafe. That's YOUR freedom. So it's time to take it back and defend it!
