Description

Back to where we started for the very first episode, we're back with a brand new season during the week of Juneteenth. The significance is that Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated on June 19th in honor of the emancipation of enslaved Africans in the United States. This week we're discussing The African diaspora, which is the worldwide collection of communities who have descended from native Africans or people from the continent of  Africa, predominantly in the Americas. Our panelists include Dr. Gina Paige, Dr. Sarah L. Webb, Raphael Okyere, Victor Mabutho, Hans Hageman, Jere Jeannoel-Fernandez, Dr. Shanique McCallister-Nixon, and Dr. Heather Sanders. We discuss blackness in terms of both identity and consciousness, culture, language, cuisine, community and so much more. Thank you for all the support!
