Not an easy task these days: keeping the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on a steady course with our vitality. The so-called "conservative" strain has siphoned off numbers. The ELCA has stayed true to its principles. With time, who knows? The numbers may swell again. Seems unlikely now, but who knows how change can come? Remember how we all liked disco music?
