Apostle Peter through his epistle was asking believers to be mindful of the second coming of Jesus Christ and how God wants everyone to come into complete repentance & saving knowledge of His Salvation in Jesus Christ. He furthered that some made a joke and mockery of it but believers must not do such but their hearts and minds should be full of God's word and live the life of it on daily basis by stirring up their minds into pureness.
