#Periodpoverty is something that affects people all over the world. Period poverty means not having access to the basic essentials such as as pads, tampons, menstrual cups, or pain relievers. Claire Hunt is part of Homeless Period Ireland which was founded in December 2016 with the goal of helping girls and women who are unable to access basic sanitation and female hygiene products every month. #HomelessPeriodIreland core objectives involve breaking the stigma surrounding #menstruation, educating people on the basic hygiene needs of women and ensuring that every woman in Ireland has access to sanitary products.
