In this episode, I am joined by Dr. Daniel Moore MD. Dr. Moore is a Glaucoma specialist, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, and Program Director of the Ophthalmology Residency Program at the University of Kentucky.
We talk about the new and only nationwide residency track in Global Ophthalmology UK is offering, the collegial culture and attitude of the program and department, what Dr. Moore looks for in applicants, and his advice for applicants in this unusual application cycle.
You can follow the University of Kentucky's Ophthalmology Residency Program on Instagram @ukophthalmology to see the program up close with the day to day life of the residents and the facilities they train in. Be sure to also check out the UK Ophthalmology Residency Program website, ukyophtho.com, which has information about Lexington, prelim year/residency schedules, lecture topics, surgical statistics, and blog posts by Dr. Moore on how IMGs should approach residency applications, race and ethnicity in residency, and his take on board scores and the match process.
