In Episode 8, I chat to Callum about his passion for cricket.
Callum talks about ‘the spectacle’ as he describes it – and the innovations happening within the game.
Callum’s message is simple. Cricket is more accessible than ever before.
Key terminology:
One-handed screamer: A catch taken using one hand, is characterised by it’s difficulty and impressive feat of athleticism. This catch has spectators gasping in amazement.
Cashing in at the end: Towards the end of a cricket match, a player will look to take more risk and score runs more quickly.
Sledging: “A term used in cricket to describe the practice whereby players seek to gain a advantage by verbally intimidating opponents. The purpose of sledging is to disrupt the opponent’s concentration, causing them to make mistakes or underperform.”
