Mississippi State came into the weekend series against the Kentucky Wildcats kind of railing a little bit. After having lost three games at home to the hogs the weekend before, Mississippi State needed a bounce back weekend to get them re-Started. The Diamond Dawgs would indeed get that as they would sweep the cats. Now, just because State won all three does not mean we won those games with ease. We did not! We won though, and Kentucky is a good squad. Winning is hard, and to sweep sec quality team Kentucky who came into the weekend in sec play at 5-1. They were playing as a confident team.
Mississippi State would win all three games this weekend in three different phases. Thursday night, Bulldogs would win by breaking the game open late by getting the big hit. Friday night, Bulldogs would win closing it out late with some mental toughness harnessing for our guys during that strand, as we had just battled to get the lead and fight to win, and Saturday the Bulldogs would jump out early; using a different guy to close out the game and hold on in Parker Stinnett.
Mississippi State is proving once again that they are a tough team, elite team, and a bounce back team that can beat you in so many ways.
