On today's episode, one of our very own Kiesha G joins us again on the GGT Podcast to talk about Bad Habits! We defined what a bad habit is and what it looks like when you have one! She discusses some bad habits that she had in the past and how she got through them with the Lord's guidance.
Some of the bad habits we dived into were: drinking, smoking, fornication, oversleeping, overeating, social media, excessive working out.
Kiesha wants the listeners to know that all habits are not bad, but if done too frequently and pull us away from God they can become idols. Idolatry is a sin.
Habitual sin pulls us away from God.
God will reveal things we need to let go of.
Habits can become addictions.
We need boundaries with everything.

Some good habits include: regularly studying the word of God, praying, worshipping, fellowshipping with other believers, plugging into our source (God).
Practical steps to overcome bad habits: Identify the habit, accept that it is a sin, confess it to God then to someone who can help you walk through it, develop steps to overcome the habit, realistic and measurable steps, study what God's word says about the habit, pray, spend time with likeminded believers and find healthy and fun things to do!
