Meet Elizabeth Beck: Army vet, lawyer, and single mom who stepped into the arena in the 2020 cycle to run for seat in the Texas State House. She ran a powerful and hard-hitting campaign, but ended up losing in what was a tough election cycle for many downballot democrats. Just a few months later, though, she is back in the arena running for a seat on the Fort Worth city council. In this episode, Elizabeth discusses her difficult childhood, what she learned from her eight years in the military, and how she made the decision to run negative ads against her opponent. Since this episode will be airing during Woman's History Month, she also talks about what it was like to be a woman in the army and a female candidate, and what she hopes our nation is reflecting on during Women's History Month this year.
