In learning to be happy, one of the most important skills is learning how to be unhappy. When you learn to navigate unhappiness, addressing what is bothering you, resolving the emotion or transmuting it into something new, in many cases you can once again be happy.
In this episode, Kurt describes some steps he took when he was overcome with loneliness: practicing breathing exercises, asking friends for help, going out and meeting people, and taking action in general to regain a sense of control.
