In the movie “Moneyball”, baseball manager Billy Beane and his assistant economist Peter Brand set out to create a winning baseball team on a limited budget. By analysing statistics in a new way, they’re able to get fine players who are undervalued by the market.
In one scene, Brand, played by Jonah Hill, explains how one pitcher is excellent, but nobody wants him - because he throws funny.
As a famous entrepreneur said: “You don’t go into a gold mine looking for dirt - you go looking for gold.”
When we look for value, we might well find our way to financial success - seeing opportunity with the eyes of an entrepreneur. We might also find happiness. Where others see chaos, we may see beauty.
