If you work in customer service, you might serve 100 people a day. You might have 98 customers who are nice enough, 1 who is difficult, and if you’re lucky, 1 who is exceptionally pleasant. Many times it seems that it will be that tricky customer who sticks in our mind.
We might forget the kind fellow who slows down to allow us to pass in traffic when we’re in a hurry, but we recall with vigor the one who cut us off.
When we do notice something wrong with another’s behavior, we also have the chance to commit to being more aware of it in ourselves. Every perceived annoyance is an opportunity to be more patient, and more conscious.
We always have the option to think about the people who were nice, who helped us, or even just didn’t get in our way. Let’s be grateful for those people.
