This idea of canceling each other has been going on for a long time. People want to cancel God, students want to cancel teachers. If we don’t like something that ketchup stands for, cancelled. Did that person offend you? Cancelled. Going even further back, they didn’t like that Jesus had raised Lazarus from the grave (John 11:38-44) so they wanted to kill him (John 12:10). The ultimate came when they tried, and failed, to cancel Jesus! Since we just came through Easter, it might be good to talk about what happened after Easter. Even the disciples believed that Jesus was dead, that he was cancelled. Perhaps the greatest illustration of this was Thomas.
