When you hear “Christmas Preparation” what do you think? It probably suggests going up to the attic, pulling down the decorations, putting up a tree, putting lights on the house, wrapping gifts, etc. How about baking cakes and cookies, a honey ham, smoking a turkey, etc. It seems like we all have a thousand things to do to get ready for Christmas, but is this the kind of preparation that Advent points us towards?
