After developing a taste and passion for coffee, Chronic Roots Coffee founder, Trevor Perry, continued his search for the most flavorful cup. Upon his search, from tasting coffees across the country, he found a love for sharing a cup of Joe with family & friends the most.
Little did he realize, his story dates back to the 1800’s in a small municipality in Coamo Hayales, Puerto Rico. Being a half Latino-American, he was raised on the importance of family and heritage. Before immigrating to Hawaii, his family roots are based in Puerto Rico where his great, great, great grandfather (Jose Ricardo Ortiz Vega) lived to be a coffee farmer. Upon those roots is our heritage, our colors and emblem represent the indigenous Taino People of Puerto Rico.
However, Trevor learned some hard struggles early on in his entrepreneurial journey, and working on his own mental health was the only way to solve that. Now Trevor donates a portion of the proceeds of each sale to Head's Up Guys, a foundation for men's depression and suicide.
