It was my pleasure to have Educator and Literacy Advocate, Jurema Gorham join us on the podcast today. What an enlightening discussion on literacy, diversity and equity in education, and S.T.E.M. Education. Jurema also informed us of her non-for-profit organization, Burst Into Books! Please listen, share, and support her cause for our parents and youth.
Burst Into Books, a nonprofit offering Literacy & Resources for children 6 months to 18 years old and providing Representation by way of diverse authors, books & storytellers. We encourage and develop young readers to discover books, share stories, explore dialogue, and have fun! From youth book clubs, family events, writing workshops, educational services, and online workshops, you’ll find plenty of inspiration for a great conversation and lots for your kids and families to get involved.
Since 2018, we’ve impacted over 2,000 young readers! As more schools weigh the options of returning to school in person vs e-learning it is easy for parents to feel overwhelmed by all of the decisions that need to be made. Burst Into Books can ease parental stress with their community offerings in anticipation of school beginning this Fall!
