In Today's episode I am joined with Ben who is autistic and was diagnosed age of 8. Ben talks about his Journey with Autism from not really being confident younger in life and now impacting the Autism world in a positive outlet which we think is really important!
Ben has been running his own brand "big clothing 4 u" which he start now been doing for 7 years. Ben says he will not be defined by his autism and never let anyone stand in your way! Ben went on Dragons Den to pitch his pitch, it was really good go watch it if you haven't already! Ben talks about the process about going on Dragons Den, it's not live and it's a day event and Ben went on the Den 6 months prior to airing which was the start of January this year!
Ben went to get a Dragon to invest in his business and walked away with a Dragon in Touker Suleyman! which was amazing! Ben said to the Dragons he is autistic raising awareness for Autism while on Dragons Den, Steven Bartlett said to be Ben "You pitch is the best since I've been on the Den" such a achievement for Ben!
Ben discusses the anxiety of anxiety, safe space and to show people you can still do things but some days things may stop you but you have to keep going and be strong!
great advise from Ben: "Rome wasn't built in a day!" Meaning that things take time if you continue to push and get yourself the support you need but without fighting and pushing getting your point across the waiting game may continue, which is all about confidence as me and Ben discussed in today's episode confidence is tough it take time to build it up. When we got our early diagnosis of autism both myself and ben were in denial and believed autism was Bd thing but it's not that's why we want Autism to be projected in a good light.
more advise for Ben: Keep it autistic" Meaning we want to remain autistic and tune it up the best we can!
one last piece of advise and advise for Ben: Live in the now"
Thank you again Ben, this was a awesome episode!
