In this episode, we are thrilled to have a sit-down with Richard Hester, the production supervisor of JERSEY BOYS or as we like to call it— The Godfather of JERSEY BOYS. He is the supervisor for all productions of JERSEY BOYS internationally — Broadway, national tours, Las Vegas, Toronto, London, Norwegian Cruise Line, Australia, South Africa, Asia & the Netherlands.
He formerly supervised all of the show’s technical elements but has since switched to both directing and technical supervision. He graduated with an English / Literature degree from Columbia University and his Broadway stage managing credits include Gypsy, starring Bernadette Peters, Sweet Smell of Success, Annie Get Your Gun, A Delicate Balance, The Old Neighborhood, Titanic, The Phantom of the Opera, The Red Shoes and The Secret Garden. National Tours include Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera and West Side Story.
We’re Facebook friends with him, and we’ve noticed his posts are told from both a bird’s eye view and a worm’s eye view. He’s able to take everyday matters into historical context as well as bring you back down to earth. If that doesn’t tell you why this man makes HIT musicals, we don’t know what does!
