Mareecha misleads Sri Rama to a far away place. He is killed by SriRama. But mareecha cries out loud in Rama's voice. This makes Sita to believe that Rama is in trouble. Though lakshmana assures about Rama' s valour she is convinced that lakshmana has evil intentions about her and Rama. And persuades lakshmana to go and help Rama leaving her back at the ashram. Ravana awaiting such an opportunity abducts Sita.
