Andy is a lecturer in Paramedicine at the University of Southern Queensland, and has been working in the higher education space for the past 8 years. He spent 14 years working for the Queensland Ambulance Service as an on road paramedic and prior to that had careers in exercise science, physical education and outdoor education settings in his native New Zealand and around the world. Currently working towards a PhD investigating the evolution of the professional paramedic education paradigm, he also leads a multi-disciplinary team of researchers looking at operational cognitive readiness as a physiological and psychological nexus for operators in high threat environments.
