Description

Episode 227 breaks down psychedelics. Psychedelic drugs are those which cause an altered cognitive state or perception. These drugs may be part of a wider class of drugs that is more commonly known as hallucinogens but not all psychedelics are considered hallucinogen drugs. To the untrained eye, psychedelics are viewed only as “drugs” such as “street drugs” or even pharmaceutical medications.

Psychedelics have been demonized by governments. Governments have gone as far as creating their own synthetic versions of psychedelics and grouping them together with natural psychedelics. The truth is that natural psychedelics were created for many reasons. Many ancient civilizations and cultures of today, use psychedelics for medicinal purposes as well as spiritual purposes.

These cultures have an understanding of the power of psychedelics, and that contributes to why governments regulate and outlaw natural psychedelics. We have to ask ourselves, what are they hiding? What do we not understand about these naturally occurring elements?

Many people have testified to how psychedelics helped cure ailments such as anxiety, depression, and an array of traumas. Psychedelics have been said to have helped cure and treat physical ailments along with certain addictions such as alcohol and drug abuse.  Psychedelics are to be respected and used for their medicinal and spiritual purposes, rather than solely recreational focused.  We die for lack of knowledge.
