After warming the throne, and hoarding wealth for over 70 years, Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, the 2nd) is dead. Notice how the late majesty doesn't quite have the last name? That's because the royals and nobles need only first names and titles. "Frivolous Surnames are reserved for the servants and the peasants." Many will mourn while others in the disenfranchised commonwealth may rejoice over her passing. The death of the queen represents the end of an era of colonization and forced patronage.
Regardless of your position on the Queen, her bloody blood diamond crown, and antiquated monarchy, the world will spin on. In her absence we must ask ourselves, do we need another “king”? Follow-up question, what good have “kings” brought in the past? Moreover, in this glorious 21st century, aren't we through with monarchies and unelected officials medaling with worldly affairs? Am I right WHO, WEF?
