One of the things that makes homeschooling a viable, even preferable, alternative to the form of education we're all used to is that we have the ability - can I say even the responsibility? - to make learning engaging and exciting for our children. And YES, you can do that, too!
And who knows? In the process, you may even adopt a fresh and new attitude about learning for yourself!
