Ahmed Sirour is a multi-faceted performing artist, composer, arranger, producer and sound engineer from Brooklyn, NY. The self-taught musician has collaborated with a global roster of artists, DJs and producers, and has developed a cult following for his creative remixes and soulful compositions & arrangements, with many that have even focused on issues of social consciousness. Ahmed has worked with world-renowned DJs (e.g. DJ Spinna, Rich Medina, & DJ Kemit, among others), and his remixes and mash-ups have covered songs by Quantic, The Foreign Exchange, Robert Glasper, Jill Scott, Lalah Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, John Legend & The Roots, The Fatback Band/Faith Evans, Heavy D/The Supremes, and manymore.Sirour has released several individual tracks, among them a Bossa Nova Remix of Blue Note recording artist & 2X Grammy-winner, Robert Glasper’s “Move Love,” that received considerable attention online and even landed a front page feature on Okayplayer.com. In addition, a cover of Mongo Santamaria’s “Afro Blue,” once again with longtime collaborator, Cleveland P. Jones, also received strong reception and rave reviews worldwide via international blog-sites and radio play. He is continuing his international reach, currently working with artists from Europe, Africa, and Asia, as he looks to bring cultures and ideas together with his diverse yet identifiable style, and through the universality of music.
