Description

Best of The Satin Lounge with Kia René welcomes NYC-based Queer Rock/Pop Singer and Songwriter SAMIA to #PillowTalk.  She shares Self Titled CD, and the necessity of activism and advocacy.

Samia has often been described as the “female Steven Tyler”.  She is quickly becoming known for her larger-than-life vocal prowess, bold sexuality and passionate performances. She's drawn strong comparisons to Tina Turner, Katy Perry, and Freddie Mercury. With influences such as Janis Joplin and Alanis Morissette.  Samia released her debut self-titled CD.  Samia and her band first shined their way into the spotlight in the Fall of 2012, debuting at the famous Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Since then, Samia and her four talented players have appeared at other New York City hotspot venues including The Greenpoint Gallery, The Bitter End and Tammany Hall. On the album, Samia is joined by a stellar group of musicians: Matt Zebroski (drums), Lucas Shine (guitar), Bryan Wescott Smith (guitar & keys), and Jake Leschinsky (bass).
