Puga is of Tuvalu descent and raised in West Auckland. He is an entrepreneur owning his own screen printing business Spacific Tees Ltd. two clothing labels Taina Hood Clothing and Keli Customs. He has also owned a Cafe in West Harbour. Puga also trades online in the stock market.
