How we are made righteous before God? This Homily was written by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer and expounds the doctrine that lies at the heart of the Protestant Reformation - Justification by faith alone.
The importance of this Homily is underlined by Article 11 of the 39 Articles, which states: '...that we are justified by faith only is a most wholesome doctrine, and very full of comfort, as is more largely expressed in the homily of justification'.
The full title is 'A sermon of the salvation of mankind by only Christ our Saviour from sin and death everlasting'. This is the first of three parts.

Galatians 2:16; Romans 3.23-25; Romans 10.4; Romans 8.3-4.
