Description

In the second episode of my third season, I am joined by Kate Wallace to overthink about copywriting.

We dive into:

• Taking your writing one sentence at a time.

• Getting out of your own way.

• The art of storytelling.

Kate Wallace is a high-energy copywriter, award-winning journalist and one-woman agency.

Her idea of fun? Writing copy that is generous, honest, consensual, naturally warm, and relational. Copy that is the opposite of scarcity-based, inflated, pressure-inducing, faux-friendly, and transactional. Kate’s writing has helped elevate brands in diverse sectors, including consulting, construction, food processing, financial, tech, non-profit, and the creative industries.

Some of her favourite projects are close to home, helping big-thinking Atlantic Canadian organizations with bold plans craft compelling stories that get positive interest and action. Kate’s work spans website and advertising copy, case studies, corporate communications, video scripts, blogs, speeches, op-eds, journalism, and more. A national award-winning journalist, Kate has a BA from McGill and a Graduate Diploma of Journalism from Concordia. In 2014, Kate was named by 21 Inc. as one of New Brunswick’s emerging leaders for the 21st century. She lives in Rothesay, N.B., with her husband, son and lots of pottery.
