In the fifteenth episode of my third season, I am joined by my pal Esther Bejarano to overthink about fitting in.
We dive into:
• The different layers of what it means to fit in
• The connection between confidence and "fitting in"
• Not losing your goofy self in an effort to fit in;)
Esther is the Coordinator of the North Shore Local Immigration Partnership (LIP), working with stakeholders to foster more welcoming and inclusive communities that improve settlement and integration outcomes for newcomers. She was an Immigrant Settlement Staff with YREACH for 6+ years before that. Being an immigrant herself she understands the challenges and needs that immigrants face when moving to Canada, rural NS specifically, and is passionate about removing barriers for people to have a better quality of life.
Esther serves on the board of the Rotary Club of Truro, is part of the Truro Colchester Welcome Network, and Creative Voices. She's tolerated by her fabulous and talented musician of a wife, her quirky and big-hearted 9-year-old daughter, and 4 fur babies.
Thanks to the Truro Colchester Partnership for Economic Prosperity for letting us record in their boardroom.
Oh, and it's FEEL SO GOOD by Mase;)
As always, theme song produced, recorded, mixed, by John Mullane for LMOAI. Written by John Mullane.
