LSU DB Greg Brooks Jr. underwent emergency surgery for a brain tumor on Friday
Pac 12 and Mountain West considering a promotion-relegation system in their merger talks. They would keep Pac 12 (2 teams) and Mountain West (12 teams) add 2 more teams to get to 16 total then have 8 and 8. Rumors that North Dakota State and South Dakota State could be the 2 targets for addition.
After four weeks of college football there are five teams that remain winless (East Carolina and Colorado State got wins in Week 4) - UConn (vs Utah State), Virginia (vs Boston College), Sam Houston State (vs Jacksonville State), Nevada (vs 25 Fresno State) and Buffalo (vs Akron)
