Students are expected to do their best in school. However, not all students are given the privilege to solely focus on homework and projects. Being involved in extra-curricular activities may even be out of the question. Having been a part of the academe, I have seen how students cope and manage different struggles, but I found myself in awe when I encountered working students. Their determination to juggle their studies and work motivated me to make my lessons as relatable as possible, highlighting the importance of how their actions reflect their values and belief systems outside the classroom.
