Guest Bio: I have taught in high-poverty public schools (predominantly Latinx and Marshallese students, grades 2-4) for the past 20 years. In 2009, I started a home library project to put books into the hands and homes of children with few books at home, which grew to impact over 7,000 students. I write a monthly column on teaching practice for EdWeek, had a chapter book published in 2013, and just finished the manuscript of a fantasy novel for readers in the middle grades.
