Friends of the Rosary:

To achieve the everlasting life, we should share Christ’s merciful love, as we learned in the Parable of the Samaritan (Lk 10:25-37), last Sunday.

One way to express love and compassion for one’s neighbor is to perform the “works of mercy.” It’s not just a matter of having good feeling. We must do something else. We must serve him. There are fourteen works of mercy: seven spiritual and seven corporal.

The spiritual are:

1. To convert the sinner;
2. To instruct the ignorant;
3. To counsel the doubtful;
4. To comfort the sorrowful;
5. To bear wrongs patiently;
6. To forgive injuries;
7. To pray for the living and the dead.

The corporal works are:

1. To feed the hungry;
2. To give drink to the thirsty;
3. To clothe the naked;
4. To shelter the homeless;
5. To visit the sick;
6. To visit the imprisoned;
7. To bury the dead.
