Dr. Nadia Lopez is an educator, TED Speaker, author, advocate, and Founder of Mott Hall Bridges in Brownsville, Brooklyn. This school opened in 2010 to introduce young students to STEAM which is an acronym for science tech engineering, arts and math.   

In 2015, after one of her students went viral after being featured on Humans of New York, Dr. Lopez has since received invitations to the Oval Office with President Barack Obama, an interview by Ellen Degeneres, and the honor of being awarded at Black Girls Rock alongside Michelle Obama, which was nationally televised on BET.  "The Woman Who Opened a School to Close a Prison."
