Today I talk with Peter Dundon (aka Benny) on having emotional fitness to prevent mental health concerns. Benny was a mate of mine from university in Armidale, Australia and he was nominated by a friend to do the 25 push-ups for 25 days challenge to raise awareness for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety, and depression that drive people to complete suicide.
You may like to refer to the following paper Benny found on "Prevention and early intervention for adults with mild to moderate depression". https://www.beyondblue.org.au/%E2%80%A6/mild-moderate-depression-an%E2%80%A6
You also may like to refer to books written by Martin Seligman (an American psychologist who did research on happiness). Two titles are Authentic Happiness and Learned Optimism. We’d like to shout out to Margot McGibbon (nee Morrison) for being one of the most positive people we knew at Uni.
Let's reach as many people as possible, and start to open up chats. I am hoping to build awareness for anyone suffering from mental illness to realise they are not alone and we are here for them. You are welcome to like, comment, and share. Thanks for listening. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthintheworkplace #mentalhealthfirstaid #wellbeing #21daychallenge #30daychallenge #meditation #coronacoaster #emotionalfitness
