The Jazz decided to run it back, but with a few critical changes. They brought back Jordan Clarkson on a four-year contract and Derek Favors is coming back to Utah on a three-year deal! This helps strengthen the backup center and scoring positions. In the draft, the Jazz picked up a traditional, defensive-minded big man in Udoka Azubuike and they got another bench scorer with their second-round pick Elijah Hughes. The Jazz are going back to their defensive roots with these moves and are looking to prove to the NBA that a defensive-oriented team can still make a deep run in the playoffs. With a healthy starting lineup and a retooled second unit, the Jazz are looking stronger than ever especially with a weaker Western Conference due to trades, injuries, and players leaving to the Eastern Conference in Free Agency.
