The Russian invasion of Ukraine continues to dominate the news. India, for example, had a state election last week, and Modi won; next door in Pakistan, the Prime Minister is facing pressure to resign. The Parliament is expected to meet by the end of this month for a no-confidence vote. If that goes through, we are looking at a crisis in Pakistan. In Yemen, the Houthis attacked an oil field in Saudi Arabia, which most likely will lead to lower Saudi oil production, translating to increased oil prices. Meanwhile the UAE and Saudi Arabia are resisting US pressure to increase oil production and cementing ties with China and staying at bay in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
