In this live show, SWANA collective members are reviewing 2021 and look ahead for what we can expect in 2022 with a focus on Afghanistan, Yemen, and Northern Africa. Months ahead of that withdrawal, how has that decision affected Afghanistan and how does the region view the Biden administration?
The Houthis in Yemen, who are in control of the capital Sanaa and major parts of Yemen's northern regions, have called-on the Saudi-led coalition backing the Yemeni government to agree to a dialogue that should take place under the auspices of the UN and with the participation of International partners. They stated that such a dialogue which they conditioned with a total lifting of the siege imposed on Yemen and with the withdrawal of all foreign troops, would pave the way for a cease-fire and for the setting-up of mechanisms towards a political and peaceful solution to the conflict.
