Description

Appointment with Fear was a horror drama series that originally aired on BBC Radio in the 1940s and 1950s and has been revived several times since. The show featured half-hour dramatized horror stories, introduced by a character called "The Man in Black." The plays were a mix of classic horror stories by authors like Edgar Allan Poe, M.R. James, and W.W. Jacobs, as well as new stories by both established and emerging writers. Many of the early stories were written or adapted by John Dickson Carr.
