Lesson 2: Gospel-Given Desires
Romans 1:8-17
Main Idea: The power of the Gospel is found in it’s power to give us new life. The Gospel takes our old life and gives us a new one. The Gospel takes our old desires and cravings and gives us a desire and craving for the things of God.
1. The Gospel gives you the desire to pray for others in the Gospel. (vss. 8-9)
- Who are you thankful for in the Gospel?
- Who is rejoicing in your faith?
- Who are you praying for constantly?
2. The Gospel gives you the desire to be with others in the Gospel. (vss. 10-13)
- A desire for God's will
- A desire to invest and give
- A desire to establish
- A desire to strengthen
- A desire to bear fruit
3. The Gospel gives you the desire to go to others with the Gospel. (vss. 14-17)
- Be the debtor.
- Be consumed.
- Be ready.
- Be unashamed.
- Be acting in faith.
