Description

Americans in general identify with one form of religion or another; although that number is declining. Pew Research Center conducted surveys in 2018 and 2019 and discovered 65% of American adults describe themselves as Christians when asked about their religion, down 12 percentage points over the past decade. When the focus is on African Americans, nearly eight-in-ten African Americans (79%) identify as Christian. That is also according to Pew research. Why do I share all of that? To make a point. The overall majority of Americans claim a religion; typically Christian. Forgiveness is a major tenet of Christianity. So, why haven’t Americans, especially African Americans, forgiven slavery? I hypothesize that in this episode of my podcast.
