Societal, technological and time changing factors like globalisation and privatisation have evolved the entertainment market. Responding to the changed demands, new forms of leisure time facilities such as the Urban Entertainment Centers have been developed. These include theme parks, sport arenas, indoor leisure sites, center parks, multiplex cinemas. These centres, combine different leisure functions with retail trade and entertainment and have been in part, determinants of leisure behaviour. The offering of media as a consumable good started with the outspread of the audiovisual media like radio and TV and today, has become essential in human lives. The Internet has opened up new opportunities as a source of information, media and education consumption. Covid and the advent of OTT platforms have dented but not destroyed rural entertainment centers.
