Having a career in the arts can be difficult at the best of times
but never harder than during the recent lockdowns of 2020 & 2021. Not long
before, Aoibheann & Andi’s worlds had collided at an artist’s retreat in
Ireland at a time in their lives when their children had grown and they were
all set to ramp up their creative juices a few notches more. In this lively
conversation they discuss the change in direction their lives took at midlife, the
obstacles they overcame to produce their show & what it’s like producing
work at this time in their lives.

Andi Ipaktchi is an Irish American artist based in Paris, France. Aoibheann McCann is a writer based in Galway, in the West of Ireland. The duo met at the Tyrone Guthri Artist Retreat in Co Cavan, Ireland in 2019 and are the creators of chart topping scripted audio comedy podcast Retreat.
