Description

The Halo Collective is and organisation that aims to champion a new code for employers, so that they proactively take a stand to ensure that no member of their community faces barriers or judgments because of their Afro-textured hair.

This is a key talking point for many Black employees, battling workplace dress codes - official or unofficial - is part of everyday life. People are forced to choose between a potential career on the one hand, and our cultural identity and hair health on the other.

I was lucky enough to talk to a close friend of mine Stephanie, who also happens to be a member of the group who created and have been pushing this influential campaign

In this pod me of Steph will talk about the issue of black hair being stereotype and see where to a large degree it is delegitimised and not recognised as the economic powerhouse it actually is.

Then we have some general convo about the times we’re living in, Corona Chrismas and then the good ol “Am I the Asshole” segment to fin.
