Jesus often addressed the issue of money and stewardship – because the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil (1 Tim 6:10). In fact, Jesus spoke more about money than any other single figure in Scripture. As we find in this text, there were people in His day fighting over an inheritance just like they do today, and while Christ did not put himself in the place of arbitrating such arguments, He did take the occasion to teach us the kingdom perspective of possessions and wealth.
