Christmas is a dark and hard time for many people. Many struggle with the recent loss of loved ones, strained finances, pressure on marriages and parenting, loneliness, and a host of other issues. As we return to Matthew's narrative of Christ's infancy, we see that Christ's incarnation was an occasion of great hostility, grief, and exile. How Jesus was received in the world shows us exactly why He needed to come into the world.
