In this passage (Acts 13:44-52), we have Paul and Barnabas preaching the gospel in Pisidian Antioch. Though initially welcomed by the Jews in this city, they were rejected, reviled, and persecuted when they announced that the way of salvation was open to the Gentiles. As we explore this text, we see the danger of religion without faith, and we also see God's complete sovereignty in the work of salvation.
