As we explore this part of Matthew's birth narrative, we find depicted three kinds of kings. There are kings who leave everything to pursue and worship the Lord. There is a king who sees the Messiah as a threat and deceptively seeks to preserve His own power and dominion. And then there is the King of Kings who, even as a toddler, is worthy of all praise, adoration, and devotion.
