Description

Appointed in 2017 as the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service, Cressida Dick is the first openly gay woman to hold what is considered to be the highest-ranking police officer position in the UK. Cressida graduated with an MPhil in Criminology from Cambridge with the highest grade in the year. She has been critical of the cuts to police funding and the risk this poses in tackling violent crimes. She has been a long-time advocate for an increase in the number of female police officers.
